The Light House is probably Dahab's most visited dive spot. Whether it's a beginner’s first Open Water dive or an experienced TEC diver’s adventure, from Early Morning to Night Dive: This is the divers' place to be in Dahab! Despite the many divers, the Light House still remains a wonderful site with different routes for all levels.
We will be accessing via natural stone steps that end in approx. 1 meter deep water. Here you can easily put on your fins and mask before starting your dive.
Usually we dive to the left side where after a few meters the reef begins. We will pass an underwater memorial for the people who lost their lives in the 2011 revolution, fighting for a better future of Egypt. Now you can chose between routes with depths varying from 12 to 40 meters along several big block reefs giving home to a high number of fishes and corals. TEC divers can of course go even deeper than that. After a big reef ledge, where there's sometimes relatively strong current, we will have the chance to see bigger fishes. From here we will be diving back along the reef until we will do our ascent after the safety stop and leave the water in front of the beach bar. This dive is especially suited for night dives: Electric rays, spanish dancers, slipper lobsters or octopuses – the night bears secrets of its own.
There is also the possibility to dive to the right side, of course. The seaweed that you will find here harbors sea horses, sea snakes and often also turtles. Furthermore you can perfect your buoyancy skills in the obstacle course.
